Biox Biodiesel to Shell Canada

Pipeline Connection Makes for ‘the Most Efficient Logistics Possible’

Hamilton, Ont.-based Biox Corp has an agreement to supply biodiesel to Shell Canada to satisfy a 2% federal renewables requirement. The two companies will share the cost of a pipeline to connect the Biox facility in Hamilton to Shell’s immediately adjacent distribution terminal by late this year.

Grant Would Bridge Biogas and Small-Scale LNG Production,
Goal Is 10,000 LNG Gallons Per Day for Less than $20 Million

Salt Lake City-based Ruby Mountain is working to bridge economical biogas and small-scale liquefaction technologies with an eye to being able to produce, two to three years from now, about 10,000 gallons of LNG per day for a capital cost now estimated at just $12 million to $20 million.

Record Growth in Orders in 2012 for Q-Lite CNG Tanks

Quantum Fuel Systems reports that new 2012 orders for its Q-Lite brand Type IV all-composite CNG cylinders increased 231%, from $5.8 million in 2011 to a record $19.1 million in 2012. And Quantum says it has already received $9.4 million in new orders for CNG tanks and systems during the first quarter of 2013.

Mack Trucks unveiled its natural gas Mack Pinnacle axle back model tractor with 11.9-liter ISX12 G engine by Cummins Westport, Inc. during the 2013 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville this week. The LNG-fueled vehicle was built for UPS and shown in UPS brown livery.
