CNG Innovations Uses Altech-Eco, AutoGaz Centrum, Quantum

Bloomington-based CNG Innovations of Minnesota is promoting dual fuel natural gas-diesel and bi-fuel CNG-gasoline vehicle conversions. The company counts Holiday Stationstores and the Zerorez cleaning service among its customers, says principal Troy Sandvig.

CNG-MinnesotaCNG Innovations uses equipment from Canada’s Technocarb and Poland’s AutoGaz Centrum, Sandvig told F&F. For Ford vehicles, the firm employs EPA-certified gear from Altech-Eco.

CNG Innovations offers a wide range of compressed natural gas cylinder options, ranging from Type I all-steel cylinder to Type IV all-composite. Most of its installations to date have used Type IV tanks from Quantum, Sandvig says.

Fleet Services

In addition to Ford, his company offers conversion of Dodge/Jeep, GM, Honda, Nissan and Toyota vehicles. The excellent CNG Innovations website features a Fleet Services section, noting that for customers who sell or trade their vehicles after a year or two, the CNG equipment can be removed and re-installed on a new truck or car.

“We recently removed a CNG system off of a 2010, V6 Toyota Tacoma pick-up and transferred the entire system to a 2014, V8 Ford F-150,” the company says. “All the major components were transferred and we were able to upgrade the CNG fuel injectors from a V6 to a V8.”
