Oberon Gets California DME Nod

Continued Progress Toward Dimethyl Ether Commercialization

San Diego-based Oberon Fuels has won California approval of dimethyl ether as a vehicle fuel, continuing the march toward commercialization. DME handles like propane, works in modified diesel engines (maintaining the efficient compression ignition cycle), and can be made from biogas with no need to process out the carbon dioxide.

Blue Bird Bus is now a public company, trading under the Nasdaq symbol BLBD. Hennessy Capital Acquisition says it took Blue Bus public via its acquisition of School Bus Holdings, Inc., “which, through its subsidiaries, conducts its business under the ‘Blue Bird’ name,” from The Traxis Group, which is majority-owned by funds affiliated with Cerberus Capital Management.

The 40-page publication has information on biofuels and electric vehicles, as well as hydrogen, natural gas and propane autogas, from both OEMs and upfitters.

The 2015 model year features nearly 200 AFV and hybrid electric vehicle models, including more than 80 flex-fuel vehicles, states a Clean Cities blog entry.


“This guide provides model-specific information such as vehicle specifications, manufacturer suggested retail price, fuel economy, energy impact, and emissions,” Clean Cities says.

“Drivers can use the information to identify options, compare vehicles, and make more informed purchase decisions.”

There are now approximately 20 million light-duty AFVs on American roads, Clean Cities says.

An alternative to the printed Guide is the Clean Cities is the Alternative Fuel and Advanced Vehicle Search tool, which also covers medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
