Registration Is Open for Event with the NTEA Work Truck Show

The Green Truck Association – an affiliate division of NTEA – is stepping up promotion of the Green Truck Summit, with takes place in conjunction with the NTEA Work Truck Show this coming March at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

The Green Truck Summit runs March 1-3 while the Work Truck Show itself takes place March 2-4.

“The upcoming Green Truck Summit is set to deliver the latest on clean energy innovations for commercial vehicles,” NTEA managing director Doyle Sumrall says in a the association’s recent registration announcement. “It’s a pivotal time in the work truck industry as we advance technology and government regulations gain momentum.”

New for 2016, he notes, is an expanded curriculum uniting Green Truck Summit and Work Truck Show concurrent sessions, with topics including

  • latest developments on Phase Two greenhouse gas regulations;
  • information on economic benefits of commercial vehicle lightweighting;
  • data security tips when collecting critical information via telematics; and
  • driver behavior and its influence on fuel management.

Sessions will include real-world experiences from fleet managers on the proper selection and deployment of new truck technologies.

Freightliner is the Presenting Sponsor of Green Truck Summit 2016.

The Work Truck Show ride-and-drive, sponsored by Hino Trucks, takes place on the afternoons of Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3.

Jay Leno is the breakfast keynote speaker at the Work Truck Show on March 2.

Registrations are discounted until February 12.

NTEA, the Association for the Work Truck Industry, is also known as the National Truck Equipment Association.

Westport reported an order in Sweden for at least 400 Volvo V70 taxis using its bi-fuel compress natural gas-gasoline fuel systems. The buyer is FVG/Fågelviksgruppen, which operates some 6,000 taxis in such fleets as TaxiKurir, Taxi 020, Taxi Skåne, and TaxisNorge.

Agility Names CEO: Kathleen Ligocki

She’s a Veteran of Kleiner Perkins and Harvest Power

Agility Fuel Systems today named Kathleen Ligocki as CEO effective December 3.

“With an impressive background in the automotive industry and entrepreneurial technology firms, as well as prior CEO experience at a variety of companies, we believe that Kathleen is uniquely qualified to lead Agility to the next level,” Agility chairman Mike Gallagher said in a release.

“We are delighted to welcome her as CEO, and we would also like to thank Bill Nowicke for leading the company through this important transition period,” he said.

Prior to joining Agility, Ligocki served as the CEO of Harvest Power, a organics management solutions company. Previously, she was an operating partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a Silicon Valley venture capital provider, collaborating with the firm’s green tech ventures on strategic challenges, scaling operations and commercialization.

‘Continued Innovation’

“The continued innovation in Agility’s natural gas fuel systems and a brand new, vertically integrated production facility in North Carolina will position the company to continue serving its expanding base of fleet and OEM customers,” Ligocki says in the appointment announcement.

“Our newest designs and integrated manufacturing model will offer the highest quality, most cost effective natural gas fuel systems available to the heavy duty truck and bus markets. I look forward to joining the Agility team as we continue to lead the way in adoption of a cleaner fuel in natural gas across the transportation industry.”

Ligocki has also served as CEO at Tower Automotive, a Fortune 1000 global automotive supplier, Next Autoworks, an auto company with a unique low-cost business model, and GS Motors, a Mexico City-based auto retailer owned by Grupo Salinas, a large Mexican conglomerate.

Ms. Ligocki has also held executive positions at Ford and United Technologies where she led operations in the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Russia. She began her industrial career at General Motors.
