American Natural Gas Now Has Some 40 Outlets in 13 States
Serving Anheuser-Busch, Frito-Lay, Swift, and Central Freight

Hard-charging American Natural Gas has expanded its network of compressed natural gas fueling outlets to approximately 40, announcing just prior to Christmas the acquisition of 11 CNG stations in Arizona, Kansas, Texas, Utah, California, and Colorado through the acquisition of Questar Fueling, and seven stations in Indiana and Ohio via the acquisition of Constellation CNG.

France-based Brittany Ferries has disclosed plans for a new liquefied natural gas-fueled cruise ferry. Brittany has a letter of intent for the 607-foot (185-meter) vessel to be built by Flensburger Schiffbau in Germany for launch in 2019.

‘Nationwide, 36% of Our Natural Gas Fleet Runs on Biomethane’

Waste Management now operates more than 5,000 natural gas vehicles out of its overall fleet of more than 32,000. “One of our primary strategies for reducing emissions,” the company says in its just-released 2016 Sustainability Report, “is to transition our fleet of 18,500 collection vehicles from diesel to cleaner-burning natural gas.”

The Cummins Westport joint venture and partner Westport Fuel Systems are making significant progress with both natural gas engines. Cummins Westport this month announced full availability of its 6.7-liter dedicated natural gas ISB6.7 G midrange engine, while reports point to commercialization of parent Westport’s HPDI/high pressure direct injection technology for heavy natural gas-diesel dual fuel vehicles by Volvo.
