Organizers of ACT Expo 2016 and NAFTC – West Virginia’s National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium – are hosting a free webinar next week to help industry stakeholders prepare for new alternative fuel vehicle fleet facilities and deployment.

The presentation by NAFTC operations chief William Davis takes place on April 7 at 10:00am Pacific / 1:00pm Eastern time.

The complimentary session will cover the training needs of such internal staff as fleet managers, technicians and fueling crews, and those of such external support stakeholders as first responders, recovery and recycling specialists.

‘What Not to Do’

The pre-ACT Expo webinar will address AFV codes and standards and how they may pertain to stakeholders, and “What to do/not to do when providing AFV training for impacted stakeholders.”

ACT Expo itself takes place May 2-5 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif. It is organized by Fleets & Fuels publisher GNA – Gladstein, Neandross & Associates.

Colorado’s RAQC Has $4 Million for AFVs

Applications Due February 29 Under Latest RAQC Round

Colorado’s Regional Air Quality Council has launched a new round of funding for alternative fuel vehicle purchases in ozone nonattainment and carbon monoxide maintenance areas, with grants ranging from $3,000 for light duty AFVs for private fleets $35,000 for heavy-duty AFVs for non-profit or public fleets.

RAQCDedicated-CNG/compressed natural gas, CNG-gasoline bi-fuel, propane autogas and electric vehicles are eligible under the Alt Fuels Colorado initiative.

Noble Supports CNG School Buses

A total of $4 million is available for the latest round under the state’s four-year, $30 million program.


In concert with the federally backed Alt Fuels Colorado program, Noble Energy is providing funding for CNG school buses for school districts in the ozone nonattainment areas. Interested school districts apply via RAQC’s Alt Fuels Colorado program.

Applications under this latest Alt Fuels Colorado vehicle funding round are due February 29. The agency will answer questions until the close of business on February 12.

Houston Clean Cities Meeting Wednesday

Houston-Galveston Area Council Is the Host

The Houston-Galveston Clean Cities organization is holding its annual meeting this Wednesday, January 27, hosted by the Houston-Galveston Area Council at H-GAC headquarters in Galveston.

CleanCitiesHoustonThe gathering will include briefings on a range of alternative fuels, among them CNG/compressed natural gas, propane autogas/LPG, biofuels and electricity.

Fleet Updates

There will also be presentations on public and private fleet activities in the area.

The meeting will include a briefing on the Houston-Galveston Clean Cities group’s new website.
