Spark-Ignition Natural Gas Variant Added to Growing Line-Up

Omnitek Engineering spread the word at the North American NGV Conference & Expo in Atlanta that it has completed a pilot project involving 21 refuse collection trucks with the Mack E7 engine, which it plans to add, when approved, to its growing line-up of spark-ignition dedicated-natural gas engines. The 12-liter engine is up for U.S. EPA approval of 1998 through 2006 variants, expected in the first quarter of 2014. The trials in California were conducted under a California Air Resources Board waiver.

Silver Eagle Distributing Places an Initial Order for 60

Utah’s AGA Systems and Houston’s Nat G CNG Solutions reported U.S. EPA certification of their bi-fuel compressed natural gas-gasoline system for GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox crossover vehicles with 2.4-liter direct injection engine. An initial operator is Silver Eagle Distributing, also of Houston – which is taking up to 100.

Linde is talking up a liquefied natural gas fueling station design it says “addresses numerous issues that have previously plagued the LNG fueling area.” Linde has commissioned the first stations incorporating its new design elements in the UK and Australia, and said in Atlanta that it’s now building the first in North America, to be commercialized in January.

Hunter is to provide custom-configured Peterbilt 388 and 389 gliders with EcoDual’s MAX/SRTM dual fuel system allowing blended natural gas-diesel operation.
