ANGI Energy is to begin shipping turnkey equipment for the first-ever trackside fast-fill compressed natural gas fueling facility for locomotives. The Chicago-area’s Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad is to begin deployment of the first of as many as 31 converted switcher (short-range) locomotives.

Organizers of the High Horsepower (HHP) Summit have announced that the six edition of the annual gathering will take place November 6-9, 2017 at the Prime Osborne Convention Center in Jacksonville, Fla. Jacksonville is the base for the world’s first liquefied natural gas-fueled container ships, operated by Tote Maritime, and is a pioneering center for commercial LNG bunkering and LNG-fueled rail operations as well.

Clean Energy Talks Up the Marine Fueling Possibilities

Clean Energy Fuels said this morning that it’s moving to buy land in Jacksonville, Fla. to build a liquefied natural gas plant serving marine, truck and rail markets. It would be the first project to be developed by Eagle LNG Partners, the new consortium of Clean Energy, GE Ventures, GE Energy Financial Services and Ferus Natural Gas Fuels.

Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection has kicked off its Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant program for light and medium duty natural gas vehicles. The AFIG program will provide an estimated $10 million in grants to help companies and organizations purchase or convert medium to light-weight natural gas vehicles.
