Clean Energy Fuels details its relationship with Raven Transport in a recent website post, noting that the company has more than 500 trucks serving the U.S. Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Northeast, operates more than 180 of those trucks on liquefied natural gas, and “plans to add more LNG trucks in their 2015 fiscal year.”

Scientists, Activists, Policymakers Focus on Los Angeles

The Coalition for Clean Air is hosting the California Methane Symposium in partnership with Climate Resolve and the Environmental Defense Fund on March 12, from 1:30-4:30pm at Deaton Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

CoalitionforCleanAir“Southern California has a methane problem,” Los Angeles-based CCA says. “This potent greenhouse gas traps 84 times more heat pound-for-pound than carbon dioxide in the first 20 years after it is emitted.”

The symposium includes scientists, activists, and policymakers:

  • Climate change and methane experts from leading academic and research institutions will discuss the science behind methane as a major climate change agent and announce newly funded research.
  • Scientists and government representatives will detail what is both known and unknown about concentrations and sources of methane in California, such as landfill emissions, oil extraction and refinement and aging gas transmission infrastructure.
  • Representatives from local and state agencies, utilities and leading organizations will describe the steps being taken to limit methane pollution and strategies for increasing their benefits.

“Learn what’s being done and what you can do,” CCA says.

Navistar’s IC Bus unit is taking orders for the propane autogas-fueled CE Series school bus with 8.8-liter PSI engine by Power Solutions International. The engineered “is engineered to deliver the highest torque at the lowest speed.”

Kraus Global Acquired by Priveq

Compressed Natural Gas, Propane and Hydrogen Dispensers

Winnipeg-based Kraus Global has been acquired by Priveq Capital Funds, of North York, Ont. Priveq says it led a management buy-out, “investing $6.2 million in common equity.”

KrausGlobal-logoKraus claim the North America lead in the design and manufacture of compressed natural gas fueling dispensers and electronic control systems. The firm also promotes dispensing and electronic control systems for propane autogas and hydrogen.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Kraus’ management team in this rapidly growing industry,” Priveq managing partner Brad Ashley says in a Kraus release.

Kraus boasts more than 30 years of experience and more than 6,000 CNG installations worldwide.

Westport has united its bi-fuel and dedicated natural gas fuel system products and body configurations for Ford vehicles under its Westport WiNG Power System brand. “This shift offers customers more products to choose from that meet Westport’s QVM process, quality and standards,” sales and marketing VP Mark Aubry said in a release.
