Electric Vehicles

Surviving a funding scare, Southern California's Foothill Transit is expected to purchase nine more Proterra battery buses, quadrupling its current fleet of three.
Lacking a very tailpipe, electric vehicles remain the holy grail of clean transportation. EV is design is far fundamentally simpler than the design of internal combustion engine vehicles, ultimately promising cheaper and more reliable cars and trucks, but the challenge of energy storage—the battery—persists. Single-charge range remains low: it has historically been very low, and has prevented mass market success.
Lead acid batteries have given way to nickel metal hydride used in most commercial hybrid electric vehicles today, with multi-faceted lithium ion technology seen as soon enabling sufficient range for successful battery EVs.
