Obama’s Top Energy Advisor at the Energy Independence Summit
Heather Zichal, President Obama’s top energy advisor, has been named the luncheon speaker at the Energy Independence Summit on Monday April 8. Organizers note that Zichal helped to shape and execute many of the President’s top energy and climate priorities, including historic new fuel economy standards.
Zichal will discuss the President’s recent proposal for $2 billion to fund new research and development of clean energy technologies (F&F, March 17).
The Energy Independence Summit runs April 7-10 at the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City near Reagan Washington National Airport, with activities and meetings on Tuesday April 9 taking place largely on Capital Hill.
The Transportation Energy Partners-organized gathering is billed as the nation’s premier alternative fuels policy event. Platinum sponsors include Clean Energy Fuels, Nissan, Cummins Westport and Westport Innovations.
Presentations are also expected by Volvo, Roush CleanTech, the National Biodiesel Board, the Edison Electric Institute, and the American Gas Association.
