Atlantic City to Include Fleet Awards and a Calstart Track
The New Jersey-based NAFA Fleet Management Association is gearing up to hold its annual Institute and Expo in its home state. NAFA I&E is being held April 23-26 at the Atlantic City Convention Center and Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort. The trade show takes place April 24-25.
New this year are a Fleet Sustainability Track organized in league with Calstart, and NAFA’s First Annual Fleet Excellence Awards.
Winners of the Fleet Excellence Awards will be announced during NAFA’s First Annual Fleet Excellence Awards Night, on Tuesday, April 23 at the Trump Taj Mahal. Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes will provide entertainment.
Commencing on Wednesday, “Calstart will host a specific education and training track featuring several value-add sessions for fleets looking at getting the latest information about advanced fuels and vehicles, and how to make them work for their operations,” NAFA says. “All sessions were developed by Calstart and will feature their speakers and experts.”
- a status report on available high efficiency and alternative fuel vehicles and technologies to keep fleets current;
- a workshop highlighting and correcting the most common myths and misperceptions about advanced and alternative fuel vehicles;
- a session on how to decide what solutions work best for a fleet’s unique operation, including using decision tools like Fleet Value Calculators; and
- a hands-on session about how to plan for a sustainable or green fleet, including case studies and making the case to the corner office.
Separately, the Las Vegas-based Natural Gas Vehicle Institute is holding two compressed natural gas fueling station training courses in Egg Harbor, N.J., just west of Atlantic City: CNG Fueling Station Design Training on April 23-24, and CNG Fueling Station Operation and Maintenance Training on April 25-26.
NAFA’s 2013 International Fleet Academy will take place October 21-24 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Ariz. Registration will open early this summer.
