First Time as Partnering Sponsor in 2013 International Hill Climb

Honda is spreading the word that supporting the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb as a partnering sponsor for the first time, and that it’s entering hybrid and full battery electric vehicles as part of “an unprecedented 10 Honda and Acura products in nine race classes.”

Honda will run this HPD CR-Z hybrid coupe and a Fit EV up Colorado’s Pikes Peak on June 30.

The 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb – PPIHC – is scheduled for June 30 outside Colorado Springs.

PPIHCHonda Performance Development will participate with an HPD CR-Z hybrid coupe and a Fit EV, as well as several other cars and four motorcycles.

‘A Unique Opportunity’

“Pikes Peak presents us with a unique opportunity to showcase Honda’s diverse product lineup and to energize Honda fans around world, as we work to further strengthen Honda’s presence in racing at all levels,” American Honda senior automotive operations VP Mike Accavitti said in a release.

“Our associates will be working hard between now and Race Day to prepare this diverse field of race vehicles and showcase the Honda racing spirit.”
