Michigan’s Venchurs Vehicle Systems claims a “first-of-its-kind” low-pressure design for bi-fuel compressed natural gas-gasoline upfits: a port-directed system through a single manifold, featuring large deed inlets with O-ring fittings.
Conversion can be completed without modification of original engine components, Venchurs says. The design allows seamless, “on-the-fly” switching of fuel supply, with less maintenance needed during life of vehicle.
VVS’s dedicated-CNG system employs a custom-specified, “top-of-the-line” ITT Conoflow regulator, says sales director Mark Merriman.
VVS secured Ford QVM (Qualified Vehicle Modifier) status in September and burst onto the scene at October’s Green Fleet conference in early October.
The firm is targeting Ford F-250 and F-350 pickups with 6.2-liter gaseous prep engines (F&F, October 17).
