Rush Peterbilt has two new compressed natural gas Class 8 truck deals to crow about: 15 new CNG-fueled Peterbilt 384 tractors for Waco-based Central Freight Lines and 17 CNG-fueled four-wheel drive Peterbilt 365 tractors for Pioneer Natural Resources.
Pioneer will use its new CNG-fueled 4×4 Peterbilts to assist with oil and gas production.
The CFL truck purchase is supported by a grant from H-GAC, the Houston-Galveston Area Council, which says the 15-unit trial “could lead to an addition of 200 natural gas tractors in CFL’s south Texas market.”
The 17 CNG-fueled 4×4 trucks for Pioneer will be used to help support oil and gas production, says Lynn Davidson of Rush Peterbilt.
All 32 vehicles have ISL G engines from Cummins Westport and 75 diesel gallon equivalent back-of-cab CNG rigs from Agility Fuel Systems.
The 17 Pioneer trucks have additional 46-DGE rail-mounted fuel tanks.
