Westport LD will stage a grand opening of its Westport Kentucky Integration Center on June 26. The new WKIC is integrated with the Ford assembly plant in Louisville.
Westport LD offers bi-fuel CNG-gasoline conversions of Ford F-250 and F-350 pickups, using its proprietary Westport “WiNG” power system. Regular, super and crew cabs are available, as are both two- and four-wheel drive.
The Westport WiNG upfits, priced at $9,750, are designed for both U.S. EPA and California certification. Westport LD offers two compressed natural gas fuel cylinder tank packages: a standard Type IV tank from Xperion holding 18.4 gasoline gallon equivalents, and an optional ($1,200), lighter-weight all-carbon Type IV tank from Quantum Technologies holding 24.5 GGEs.
Westport LD is trumpeting a combined range of more than 600 miles for the bi-fuel vehicles.
Westport LD is a Ford QVM
The Westport LD pickups have 6.2-liter engines. Westport LD is a Ford QVM – Qualified Vehicle Modifier.
The trucks are sold and serviced throughout the U.S. exclusively by Westport LD-authorized Ford dealer distributors.
In addition to a morning ribbon-cutting and ride-and-drive at the Westport Kentucky Integration Center on June 26, the firm is planning an evening reception with live music and refreshments.
