Argentina’s Aspro Tackling the U.S. Market

Time is Right for Largest Supplier of CNG Compressors

Argentina’s Aspro, which says it’s the world’s largest supplier of compressed natural gas compressors with some 4,000 units in service in 38 countries, is redoubling its efforts in the United States.

Argentina’s Aspro is coming to America, too.

Aspro has maintained a presence in Florida for several years and has displayed at U.S. trade shows. Now it has hired longtime U.S. CNG man Dave Pearce, veteran of Sulzer, ANGI and Greenfield,  as its Texas-based business development manager for North America. Colleague Hank McElvery is working for Aspro now too.

Plans for skid assembly in the U.S. – compressors will continue to be manufactured at Aspro’s vertically integrated plant outside Buenos Aires, Pearce says – will be detailed in the coming weeks.

The firm says it recently received an import UL approval for its electrical equipment.

Getting closer to its target, Aspro says it’s furnished Chrysler de Mexico with a fueling installation sufficient for 40 trucks per day in Coahuila, where Chrysler manufactures its new bi-fuel pickups for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Chrysler has deployed an Aspro IODM 70 compressor and AS 120 G dispenser.
