22 Trucks with Agility-Lincoln Fuel Rigs, ISL G Engines
The City of Pomona, Calif., has gone all-CNG with its garbage trucks via the purchase of 22 low entry TerraPro vehicles by Mack Trucks, the manufacturer reports.
The compressed natural gas vehicles are expected to be delivered in September 2012, Mack says.
The trucks have 8.9-liter engine by Cummins Westport and CNG tank assemblies by Agility Fuel Systems. Agility used Type IV all-composite cylinders from Lincoln Composites, says Agility VP Scott Lucero.
“Pomona is committed to reducing its environmental footprint,” solid waste manager Howard Morris says in Mack’s release. “We liked what Mack had to offer, especially its excellent reputation and the durability and reliability of its products.”
Pomona is getting 20 CNG side-loaders and two rear-loading trucks.
The City worked with Dan Huntsinger at TEC Equipment or La Mirada to complete the purchase, Mack says.
Jim Waterbury is Pacific district sales manager for Mack.
