$3,000 Worth of CNG for New Civic Natural Gas Buyers – ‘Fabulous’
American Honda and Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE) have teamed to offer $3,000 in fuel to customers purchasing a new 2012 Civic Natural Gas car. Buyers will get a debit card pre-loaded with $3,000 that can be used at Clean Energy CNG stations.
The partners say they’re riding record sales of the vehicle and are “fighting back against a spike in gasoline prices.” Honda says it’s posted record sales since the 2012 model went on sale a year ago – a 22% gain over sales of the older model known as the Civic GX.
Separately, for areas where there is no Clean Energy CNG outlet, Honda and local dealers are splitting costs and offering a $2,000 card, good for local CNG fill-ups.
“All in all, this is a fabulous promotion for the Honda Civic Natural Gas,” says one close observer.
Offer Expires January 2 and Supplies Are Limited
The 2012 Civic Natural Gas Vehicle is the only OEM produced natural-gas powered passenger vehicle in the U.S., and is now available via 199 certified Honda CNG dealers in 36 states. “It is the only dedicated CNG-powered passenger car available for retail purchase from a major automaker and is manufactured exclusively by Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC in Greensburg, Indiana, using domestic and globally sourced parts,” Honda says.
Customers interested in receiving a fuel card with the purchase of a new 2012 Civic Natural Gas must make their purchase from a participating Honda CNG dealer on or before January 2. And, “The supply of fuel cards and model year 2012 Civic Natural Gas Vehicles is limited.”
