Mexico Intercity Buses Have ISL G Engines, Luxfer Tanks
Tepeapulco-based Dina Camiones reported an order for 50 of its CNG-fueled Linner G intercity-suburban route buses at NGV Global 2012 in Mexico City.
The buses, to be built early in 2013 and said by one source to be destined for the Guadalajara area, will have 8.9-liter ISL G engines from Cummins Westport and four Type III carbon fiber-on-aluminum compressed natural gas fuel cylinders from Luxfer. Range is a reported 900 kilometers, or 560 miles.
Dina displayed one of the 10.4-meter (34-foot), 41-passenger Linner G vehicles at NGV Global 2012, as well as a 12.1-meter (39.7 foot ), 100-passenger Ridder G bus, also with ISL G engine and Luxfer tanks, for urban routes.
Dina also manufactures 165-passenger diesel-fueled articulated vehicles dubbed “Dina BRighTer” for BRT-bus rapid transit use.
NGV Global 2012 featured a Friday technical tour of Dina’s plant northeast of Mexico City.
