Will Design, Construct and Operate Stations for City Vehicles
Mansfield Gas Equipment Systems will design, build and operate three new compressed natural gas fueling stations in El Paso under a contract between the city and parent Mansfield Energy to service city-owned and leased vehicles. The contract is for an initial term of ten years to operate and maintain the three facilities “on property leased from the City of El Paso for the fueling of the City of El Paso owned and contracted vehicles.”
Local partners include El Paso-based Bath Engineering and The Garrick Group. Mansfield said it “prefers to combine national experts with local craft talent to create an optimal design and construction team, recognizing that local craftsmen understand regional building conditions and traditions, while also promoting local jobs where dollars remain in the community where the sites are built.”
The stations will be at an El Paso International Airport site, at SunMetro’s “The Lift” paratransit vehicle site at 5081 Fred Wilson Avenue, and the city Municipal Service Center site at 1059 Lafayette Drive.
