Natural Gas Voucher Incentive Program Until May

The Maryland Energy Administration is offering vouchers to help offset the cost of natural gas vehicles – up to $20,000 for vehicles with GVWs greater than 26,000 pounds. Awards limited to five per operator.

The Maryland Natural Gas Voucher Program is for fleet vehicles registered in the state of Maryland. They must be operated for three years. Publicly funded transit agencies are not eligible. Aftermarket conversions are eligible, but Maryland requires full California Air Resources Board certifications.

The state has budgeted $400,000 for the NGV voucher initiative, with awards on a first-come, first-served bases. Applications are being accepted until May 8.

MEA is hosting a CNG Showcase at Maryland DoT headquarters in Hanover, Md. on March 1. The agenda includes a visit to a Clean Energy Fuels CNG station. Clean Energy and Ford are event sponsors.
