Order for Ford F-350s Follows Union City Ship-Thru Designation
Impco Automotive reports an order from AT&T to convert 650 Ford F-350 trucks with 6.2-liter engines to dedicated-compressed natural gas operation. Work will be done at Impco’s facility in Union City, Ind., where the trucks will be fitted with 25 gasoline gallon equivalents of CNG storage.
“The order will be managed using the Ship-Thru capability as a Gaseous Fuels Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) which Impco recently obtained,” the company says.
Impco began ship-thru for Ford E-Series vans and Super Duty vehicles, including all F250 through F550 body styles, with the company’s CNG bi-fuel prep package, on May 17.
Better All-Around with Ship-Thru
“Ship-thru capability improves the company’s service of main fleet customers throughout the U.S. by providing fleet managers quality control, mileage, convenience and scheduling assurances,” Impco said.
Impco is a unit of Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSYS).
