California- and U.S. EPA-Certified GM Vehicles ‘Hitting the Streets’
Impco Automotive reports ship-to-commerce approval from GM to release compressed natural gas fuel systems for the automaker’s model year 2014 crew cab pickup trucks.
Also on Tuesday, the company said it has secured both California Air Resources Board and U.S. EPA certification of its bi-fuel systems installed in 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD pickups.
“As an extension of GM’s manufacturing process, Impco Automotive installs the single-tank Bi-Fuel CNG system using GM’s OEM processes and standards,” the company says. The installation “adheres to GM’s strict quality, durability, and safety testing requirements.”
“Once the fuel system is in place, GM delivers these trucks to a dealer or to an upfitter for customer-ordered modifications,” Impco says. “Trucks are available for order at a nearby GM dealer right now.”
