American Trucking Associations Signs on as an Event Partner

NGVAmerica is stepping up promotion of its national meeting in November, urging participants to register in advance and talking up the signing of ATA, the American Trucking Associations, as an event partner.

NGVAtlantaThe 2013 North American NGV Conference & Expo takes place November 18-21 at GWCC, the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Natural Gas: Transportation Fuel for a Better Bottom Line is the meeting theme.

“Our three-day program is the most comprehensive NGV-focused event of the year,” NGVAmerica says, with

  • 22 breakout sessions featuring customers and industry stakeholders covering an array of topics including technology development and commercialization, market development strategies, niche sector application economics and best practices;
  • ATA's Bill Graves discussed the Pickens Plan for natural gas as a transportation fuel late last year in Washington, D.C. He's to be a plenary speaker at NGVAmerica's annual meeting in Atlanta this coming November.

    more than 13 hours of expo time to visit 75,000-square-foot hall featuring light, medium, and heavy duty OEM factory-built and retrofit vehicles, CNG and LNG fuel providers, fuel station component and system packagers, engine suppliers, onboard storage vessel manufacturers and integrators, fleet management consultants and service providers, clean-air/clean-transportation advocate allies, and fleet-oriented business media;

  • a selection of pre-conference site visits where attendees can see first-hand the latest in vehicle and fueling technology and real-world NGV program implementation;
  • plenty of social networking time including three continental breakfasts, two lunches,
multiple refreshment breaks, three great receptions; and
  • the NGV Achievement Awards banquet at the Georgia Aquarium with featured after-dinner entertainment by New York Times best selling author and Pulitzer Prize winner Dave Barry.

ATA joins more than a half-dozen other national and regional fleet-oriented organizations that have endorsed the event, NGVAmerica says, announcing that ATA president governor Bill Graves has agreed to be one of the featured speakers during the opening plenary.

As an event partner, NGVAmerica adds, ATA will reach out to its members to promote attendance in Atlanta, as the conference will include sessions addressing truck fleet applications technology and implementation programs.

In a reciprocal agreement, NGVAmerica is teaming with ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) to encourage NGV industry participation in its 2014 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Expo in early spring (March 8-13 in Nashville).

Other fleet-oriented event partners for Atlanta include the National Truck Equipment Association, the Solid Waste Association of North America, the Georgia Motor Trucking Association, and the Tennessee Trucking Association.

“More are expected to endorse the event very soon,” NGVAmerica says. Natural gas stakeholder groups including the American Public Gas Association, American Biogas Council, Canadian NGV Alliance, Natural Resources Canada and NGV Global have endorsed the gathering too.

AGL Resources, Hexagon Lincoln and Clean Energy Fuels are platinum sponsors.

Registration rates have been set to deliver outstanding value with special discounts extended to fleet operators, Clean Cities stakeholders, and NGVAmerica members, NGVAmerica says. And “deeply discounted” rates are available at three hotels within a two-block walk to the GWCC.
