As Much as 750,000 Gasoline Gallon Equivalents May Be Given Away

Buy five Ford pickups converted to CNG using the Westport WiNG system by year-end and Westport will pay for your fuel at any of Clean Energy Fuel’s retail stations until the end of 2015. Westport says it’s ready to grant fuel credits for up to 750,000 gasoline gallon equivalents of compressed natural gas on a “first-come-first-served” basis.

Westport WiNG offerings include bi-fuel CNG-gasoline Ford F-250/350 pickups with 6.2-liter V-8 engine and (right), the dedicated-CNG Ford F150 pickup with 3.7-liter V-6 engine.

The number of credits per customer depends on the number of vehicles ordered, Westport explains: “more trucks means more free fuel.

“For example,” says the company, “a fleet ordering five Westport WiNG-powered Ford F-150 trucks will receive 500 GGEs of free CNG per truck” – worth as much as $10,755 worth of CNG and equal to a savings of $1,195 per truck.

“A fleet that purchases 50 or more vehicles will receive 2,500 GGEs of free CNG per truck, equal to saving $239,000 in fuel or $4,780 on each CNG fuel system.”

Westport’s offer is good for orders placed through December 31.
