Fast-Fill Station with Dillon Transport in Ohio Breaks New Ground
Hard-charging CNG advocate Love’s is bringing its fast-fill service to Ohio. Love’s Travel Stops said Thursday that, with Dillon Transport as an anchor tenant, it will introduce fast-fill compressed natural gas capability for heavy-duty trucks, with a CNG fueling option for passenger vehicles, in Burbank, south of Cleveland.
“The Midwest is a strategic market for Love’s as it strives to open CNG lanes for its customers across the U.S.,” Love’s natural gas GM Bill Cashmareck said in a release.
The new CNG outlet is to open in mid-summer at Interstate 71’s Exit 204.
It will be a public access travel stop offering heavy duty CNG to all professional fleets and light duty CNG to passenger vehicles.
Dillon to Designate 20 CNG Trucks to Burbank
The partnership with Love’s will allow Dillon, which operates more than 400 trucks and 700 trailers in various parts of the nation, to designate 20 CNG trucks to the Burbank area, Love’s said.
“Our fleet will operate 20 Peterbilt trucks paired with an Agility fuel system that will give us 500 miles of range,” Dillon VP Charles Musgrove said in the Love’s release.
“We are planning for these trucks to run about 3 million miles per year and fuel at the Burbank Love’s location,” Musgrove said. “Natural gas has been a viable, cost-effective option for us as a transport fuel. We look forward to deploying more CNG trucks throughout our fleet across the nation.”
Oklahoma City-based Love’s says that its “Fast-Fill CNG gives professional drivers a similar experience to filling up with Love’s diesel or DEF. Love’s CNG stations are designed to deliver a fill rate of greater than 10 gallons per minute in all lanes, meaning a driver can fill a 100 gallon equivalent tank in 10 minutes or less.”
Love’s previously announced that it would expand its Love’s Fast-Fill CNG network at 11 of its travel stops across Texas and Oklahoma. As part of its Texas and Oklahoma expansion, Love’s is buying 55 CNG-powered trucks for its own fuel hauling fleet, Gemini Motor Transport.
Love’s reiterated its schedule for providing in-lane, fast-fill CNG by the end of the second quarter of 2014:
- Ft. Worth – I-35 W, Exit 40;
- Dallas – I-35/I-20, Exit 466;
