Public Access Facility Is to Open Later This Year
Utah’s Questar Fueling has named Central Freight Lines and Swift Transportation as companies able to take advantage of a new compressed natural gas station that’s to open near Interstate 10 in Phoenix later this year. The public-access station will provide fast-fill CNG for fleet operators with medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and for consumers.
“We see Phoenix as a strong market for CNG fueling,” Questar GM Carl Galbraith said in a release. “Our new station will be located near national trucking companies like Central Freight Lines and Swift Transportation,” he said, firms that are deploying increasing numbers of natural gas trucks.
“Our business is to make that transition as easy as possible,” Galbraith said.
Access to CNG Is Good
“Access to reliable, fast-fill CNG fueling stations near our facilities allows us to incorporate more efficient CNG trucks into our fleet,” Central Freight president and CEO Don Orr said in the Questar Phoenix announcement.
“Currently we’re operating 65 CNG trucks in Houston, along with 49 additional CNG vehicles throughout Texas. We are considering expanding our CNG fleet in other areas of our service footprint,” Orr said.
