Emphasis of $3.5 Million Alt Fuels Colorado Program Is on CNG

The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) will host a pre-bid workshop at its Denver headquarters this Thursday, July 3 in connection with the just-issued Alt Fuels Colorado CNG fueling station request for applications.

AltFuelsColoradoThe proposals for compressed natural gas fueling infrastructure may also include propane autogas vehicle fueling and/or electric vehicle charging equipment (F&F, April 29).

“Funding allocations will go exclusively toward the purchase of station equipment for developing CNG stations with up to $500,000, or 80% of the total equipment cost (whichever is lower), awarded to each successful application,” COE says, noting that installation and other associated costs will not be covered.

Deadline for Proposal Submissions is July 24

“The installation of co-located electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) fast chargers and LPG stations may qualify for up to an additional $50,000 (80% of equipment costs) in funding available for each fuel type with a potential maximum grant allocation of $600,000 (CNG + EVSE + LPG) per station.”

A total is $3.5 million is expected to be allocated via this first funding round.

CEO urges interested parties to attend the workshop in person but has made provision for call-in participation via 877-820-7831, access code 783166. The July 3 workshop commences at 10am Mountain time.

CEO will accept written questions on the Alt Fuels Colorado solicitation until July 8, will answer them on July 11, and has set July 24 as the deadline for proposals to be submitted.
