‘All Future Purchases Will Be CNG,’ Says Operations VP
Indianapolis-based Delco Foods is planning to convert its entre fleet to compressed natural gas operation, using a mix of Freightliner Cascadia and Kenworth T680 day cabs, says operations VP Bill Dollard.
“We will convert our entire fleet of 15 tractors,” Dollard says. “We have just completed our initial tractor order and hope to have our first CNG unit in service by mid-September,” he told F&F.
“Our goal is to have 100% of our fleet converted to CNG in the next 24 to 36 months. All future purchases will be CNG.”
‘We Are Committed’
Dollard says that as CNG refrigeration units become available, Delco Foods will put them to work as well: “We are committed to continued reduction of our carbon footprint as well as doing our part to reduce dependence on foreign oil.”
Delco Foods is expected to fuel at a new U.S. Oil Gain Clean Fuel CNG station in Indianapolis (F&F, July 29).
