Augments Earlier Nod for 5.3-Liter Direct Injection GM Engine
Utah’s AGA Systems reports full U.S. EPA certification for compressed natural gas-gasoline bi-fuel conversion of vehicles with General Motors’ 6.2-liter direct injection engine for 2015.
AGA describes its DuraDrive DI product as “a completely redesigned system utilizing Tier 1 OEM supplier components specified to accommodate the unique operating characteristics of the GM direct injection engine.”
DuraDrive DI upfits will be available for the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups and vans, the entire SUV family (Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL, Escalade and Escalade ESV) and the GM Tahoe PPV (police pursuit vehicle), AGA says.
The EPA certification for the 6.2-liter engine follows earlier approval of AGA’s system for GM’s 5.3-liter direct injection engine for 2014 and 2015, “and completes the certification for all General Motors trucks, vans, and SUVs equipped with new fuel efficient direct injection engines,” AGA says.
