British Columbia Company Promotes New Circulation Heater

Canada’s Thermex Engineered Systems is promoting a flameless compressed natural gas circulation heater for overnight warming of the high pressure regulator and engine block on natural gas vehicles “to ensure trouble-free start-ups on frigid winter mornings.”

The system is designed for use with natural gas-fueled Cummins-block engines.

The Thermex CNG circulation heater employs non-flammable catalytic combustion. It “operates well below the ignition temperature of CNG,” eliminating risk even in the case of a fuel leak, the company says.

The system’s only moving part is the magnetic drive impeller-type circulating pump.
