As Much as $900,000 for a Class 4 Truck from the CEC,
Goal Is Single Vehicle Combing Best of Both Technologies
The California Energy Commission has approved a proposal for a compressed natural gas-fueled hybrid electric vehicle by Efficient Drivetrains, Inc. and Greenkraft, Greenkraft reported today.
The firms want to introduce a Class 4 vehicle combining the benefits of Greenkraft’s CNG trucks with those of EDI’s high-efficiency plug-in hybrid electric vehicle technology (F&F, June 30).
CEC has awarded up to $900,000 for the project, Greenkraft says.
Greenkraft will supply CNG-fueled truck to EDI for installation of a PHEV powertrain.
