Latest Solicitation Is Aimed at School Districts and Public Entities
The California Energy Commission has $1.5 million to support natural gas vehicle fueling projects by public entities, with an emphasis on school districts.
Program Opportunity Notice/PON -14-608 is part of ARFVTP, the state’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program – under which approximately $100 million per year is invested in alternative fuel vehicles and associated infrastructure and outreach.
CEC will host a pre-application workshop on PON -14-608 in Sacramento on April 1. Applications will be due June 11.
California public K-12 school districts may be awarded as much as $500,000 per project. They are not required to provide match funding.
Other public entities must ante at least 25% of total allowable project costs as a match share. Their anticipated maximum award is $250,000.
Awards are expected to be made in July for projects to commence in September.
