At Least 55, with 250 Options, New Flyer Reports on Friday
New Flyer Industries reports a contract with RTC, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, for as many as 305 heavy-duty 40-foot and 60-foot Xcelsior buses, all to be fueled by compressed natural gas.
The contract includes a firm order for 35 forty-foot XN40 buses with options for 150 more, and 20 firm 60-foot XN60 buses with an option for another 100 over the next 5 years.
Since 1991, New Flyer says, it has delivered 332 buses to RTC, whose current transit fleet consists of approximately 650 buses.
“We are fortunate to have repeat business from prominent customers like RTC,” New Flyer president and CEO Paul Soubry said in a release.
“RTC is one of the leading transit agencies in the United States,” he said, “committed to quality and styling, performance and reliability, and to minimizing the environmental footprint.”
