Newport Public Access Station Located at a Time Out Travel Center
Amp Trillium opened its new compressed natural gas fueling station in Newport, Tenn. on Monday, noting that the new outlet is “strategically located” at a Time Out Travel Center and is a convenient place for CNG-powered trucks and cars to fuel as they travel through western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.
The Newport station off of Interstate-40 is open 24/7 and can fuel multiple Class 8 trucks simultaneously, states a release, citing the use of Trillium CNG’s proprietary fast-fill hydraulic intensifier equipment.
“Newport is a great location for our newest CNG station, as it provides a convenient refueling location for long-haul trucks traveling through Greenville, Spartanburg and Asheville and will encourage more CNG adoption in Tennessee and North Carolina,” AmpCNG president Donna Rolf said in this week’s announcement.
‘Opens Up the I-40 Corridor’
The site “opens up the I-40 corridor to CNG traffic of all sizes,” said East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition executive director Jonathan Overly.
Amp Trillium now operates 22 CNG stations across the country, including one in nearby Charlotte, N.C.
