Nearly 30% of Fleet Converted to CNG as Stations Open
Charlotte, N.C.-based Piedmont Natural Gas says it’s close to reaching a goal set two years ago to convert 30% of its own fleet to compressed natural gas.
As of 2014, the company has converted approximately 300 vehicles or 28% of the fleet to CNG, “displacing the equivalent of 200,000 gallons of gasoline,” Piedmont says in a summary of its just-released 2015 Sustainability Report.
“Piedmont is also helping commercial and private NGV owners go green with its network of public CNG refueling stations, including its 10th station scheduled to open in September in Anderson, S.C.,” the release states.
