AltCar Expo includes NAFA Fleet Management Association programming on Friday, September 19, and a free public ride-and-drive on Saturday, September 20.

“When AltCar was launched in 2006, most of the vehicles were conversions, neighborhood electric vehicles and prototypes,” organizers note. Ten years later there are a multitude of across the board alternative technology vehicles for fleets and consumers.

“The infrastructure has grown exponentially. Over the years at AltCar, we have featured the West Coast debut of the Chevy Volt, the first worldwide glimpse of the Honda Plug In Accord, the national kick off of the Nissan Leaf Tour, the national reveal of the Ford CNG F-150 and many other historical presentations.”

‘The Goal of AltCar Is the Same’

“Today there are more alternative vehicle choices than ever before, but the goal of AltCar is the same: to provide a very accessible and comprehensive setting where both industry and general public can discover existing alternatives to the way they use energy and transportation and motivate everyone to take further action.”

“This year’s event will be bigger and bolder,” organizers said today, “featuring more fleet operators, more expo booths, increased networking opportunities, in-depth case studies and technology updates.”
