‘Natural Gas Still Remains the Least Expensive Option,’ Company Says
Hexagon Lincoln says it’s recently taken order for more than $7.5 million worth of its Tuffshell brand compressed natural gas fuel cylinders, with a bout two thirds of the new tanks slated to deliver in the first quarter of 2016.
“The orders are from North American heavy duty and transit bus customers and signal continuing strength in those markets,” states a release.
“Recent headlines focused on oil price volatility have overshadowed the fact that natural gas still remains the least expensive option at the pump,” Hexagon CNG automotive products Chet Dawes says in the order announcement.
Stable Fuel Pricing
“We’re seeing the market reaffirm its commitment to natural gas vehicles,” he said, “and Hexagon Composites’ leadership position as a supplier.”
Hexagon notes further that with availability of North American shale gas, “natural gas prices have been lower than diesel and forecasts have them remaining stable over the next decade and beyond.”
