Quebec City Operator Fields 15 Natural Gas Refuse Trucks
Jordair Compressors reports the October commissioning of a duplex natural gas vehicle fueling package to support a growing fleet of CNG refuse trucks operated by Gaudreau Environnement in Quebec City.
The Gas-Plus5-2312-100-E3-D-EN installation was made possible by a “persuasive initiative” by Gaz Métro Transport Solutions, says Jordair industrial sales director Willie Romero. Gaz Métro provided mobile compression to fuel two CNG trucks as a demonstration.
“This demo program lasted over a year,” Romero told F&F, after which Gaudreau decided to expand its program to 15 new dedicated-compressed natural gas refuse trucks.
Designed for Growth
The Jordair installation provides 200 SCFM/standard cubic feet per minute of fuel, with 100% redundancy, Romero says. “The equipment includes the duplex Gas-Plus compression system, ten single-hose time fill-posts, and provisions for expansion in the future,” he adds.
Jordair distributes equipment from Germany’s Bauer Kompressoren in Canada, and according to Romero works closely with Bauer Compressors in Virginia. The company “is working throughout Canada and partnering with key driving forces on the west and east coast regions,” he says.
