Suitable for Fueling Installations and Onboard Vehicle Use
Eaton has introduced new hoses for CNG, emphasizing that the robust products have been tested by Germany’s TÜV Rheinland, and are among the first to be certified to ANSI NGV 4.2 Class A & D and ANSI NGV 3.1 Class B & C standards.
The new hoses and accompanying connectors are designed for both CNG fueling stations and heavy duty natural gas vehicles – refuse trucks, buses and delivery vehicles. They “feature market-leading certifications and reduced delivery times,” the company says.
The Eaton launch includes high-pressure 35NG and low-pressure NG-TW hoses for compressed natural gas.
“With volatile oil prices and large natural gas reserves in North America, the market for CNG vehicles has expanded rapidly over the past few years, and end-users are looking to clean-burning CNG to help reduce emissions and costs,” Eaton global product manager Chris Schwab says in the new product announcement.
The high-pressure 35NG hose has a UV/ultraviolet light-resistant cover, and “outlasts competitive alternatives by five-to-one,” Eaton says. Hose assemblies are designed to dissipate static electricity for safety. The 35NG hose offers low volumetric expansion and is available in twin-line designs.
The low-pressure NG-TW features a Teflon resin tube, a stainless steel wire braid and a fire retardant cover, Eaton says, and as such is “built to withstand the high temperatures found under the hood” – up to 121 or 250F. It is also extremely flexible, Eaton says, and offers a low permeation rate.
“Eaton is committed to offering reliable CNG products, and stocking TÜV-certified hoses for express delivery,” Schwab said.
