The firm order, worth $22 million, is for 40 of New Flyer’s CNG-fueled Xcelsior XN40 vehicles – with options for an additional 89 units over the next five years.

Long Beach Transit also operates 60-foot articulated buses from New Flyer fueled by CNG.

ANGI Energy CNG Fueling

“Long Beach Transit currently serves over 28 million annual riders with a fleet of 249 vehicles in fixed route service in the Orange County and Los Angeles County area,” New Flyer says.

The agency opened a new facility with CNG fueling equipment by ANGI Energy in autumn 2012 (F&F, September 26, 2012).
