Notes That Order Window Is Closing for 2016 F-150s
Westport has secured U.S. EPA and California Air Resources Board certification of compressed natural gas-fueled Ford Transit vans with the 3.7-liter V-6 engine for 2016. CARB has approved the Westport Transit as a SULEV/super ultra-low emission vehicle, meaning single drivers can use the state’s HOV lanes.
Westport plans on rolling the certifications over to model year 2017 Transit vehicles.
The upfitter notes too that the order book for gaseous fuel version of the Ford F-150 with 5.0-liter V-8 engine closes on July 1. Westport has CARB and U.S. EPA certifications on the dedicated-CNG version, and EPA certification of the CNG-gasoline bi-fuel version.
