Both Use Cobey Energy Compressors and Bennett Pump Dispensers
American Natural Gas is trumpeting the opening of a compressed natural gas fueling station in its headquarters town of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. as the first between Albany and Montreal.
ANG is also spreading the word that its new station in Georgetown, Ky. – announced last summer (F&F, August 21) as the first public-access outlet there with Bestway Express as the anchor tenant – has opened.
“CNG can transform the transportation industry. But it takes a network of infrastructure to make it possible, and that’s where we come in,” ANG CEO Drew West, said in a release.
Tops Friendly and Casella Waste
“Having a station in Saratoga Springs is an exciting opportunity for our regional fleets and neighbors interested in switching to a cleaner, more reliable fuel solution.”
ANG says it has helped such regional fleets as Tops Friendly Markets in Buffalo and Casella Waste Systems in Rutland, Vt. convert to CNG. “In return, the fleets have reduced their emissions, carbon footprint, and dependency on foreign oil.”
Regarding Kentucky, ANG says that trucking is the predominate mode of freight transportation there as the state is located “within 600 miles of 60% of the country’s population, 58% of the country’s manufacturing firms, and 59% of the nation’s purchasing power.”
“Having a CNG station in our backyard is a major step toward meeting our goals,” Bestway Express maintenance director Will McCormick says in ANG’s Georgetown opening announcement. “We’re committed to reducing emissions, our carbon footprint, and our dependency on foreign oil and our continued relationship with ANG will make it all possible.”
