Three New Products Available Globally for CNG Vehicles

Impco Technologies, now a unit of Westport Fuel Systems, is promoting three new GFI pressure relief devices for compressed natural gas vehicles.

Impco’s new pressure relief devices are designed for maximum heat transfer and reliable fast activation performance. They are the end-of-line PRD-4L, the end-plug PRD-4P, and the in-line PRD-4E.

The new high performance PRDs, now available globally, include

  • the end-of-line PRD-4L;
  • the one-and-1/8-inch end-plug PRD-4P, which is available with an integral temperature sensor; and
  • the in-line PRD-4E.

“This innovative technology was developed to supplement the existing models of thermal pressure relief devices, with the new models being certified to ANSI PRD 1-2013 and available with both eutectic and glass bulb technology,” Impco said today.

‘The CNG System Will Remain Intact’

Impco said too that its GFI-brand PRDs are designed for maximum heat transfer and reliable fast activation performance.

Their “high flow discharge design ensures that in the unlikely event that the device is activated, the integrity of the CNG system will remain intact.”
