Partnership for Express Mondor Trucks with Gaz Métro
Gaz Métro has disclosed plans for a new compressed natural gas fueling facility, the ninth for its “Blue Road” network of natural gas vehicle fueling stations, to be built with Gain Clean Fuel Canada to support trucks operated by Express Mondor.
The new station at Lanoraie, Quebec, on the St. Lawrence River northeast of Montreal, “represents an investment of $3.5 million from Gain Clean Fuel and Express Mondor,” the utility says. Construction has begun and is slated to be complete before the end of the year.
Gaz Métro will supply the natural gas fuel.
50 New CNG Trucks Planned
“We have undertaken to acquire 50 new CNG trucks over the next few years,” Express Mondor business development VP Billy Mondor says in the Gaz Métro announcement.
“The new station will be located alongside Highway 40’s very busy trucking corridor, which connects Montreal and Quebec City by way of Trois-Rivières,” noted Gain Clean Fuel Canada business development director Marc-André Paquin. The station will serve other carriers in addition to Express Mondor, he said.
30% More Efficient
BY using CNG, Express Mondor will save on fuel costs “and gain as much as 30% in efficiency per kilometer,” Gaz Métro says, “in addition to decreasing greenhouse gas emissions up to 25%.”
