Clean Energy Fuels will support of new fleet of 20 compressed natural gas vehicles to be operated by LSG Sky Chefs the DFW International Airport outside Dallas. updated August 15

‘By switching to CNG,’ Clean Energy says, ‘LSG Sky Chef’s will reduce their emissions by 132 metric tons, the equivalent of planting 3,300-plus trees every year.’

The fleet of 20 CNG trucks, is anticipated to use 50,000 GGEs/gasoline gallon equivalents each year,’ Clean Energy said, noting that their deployment has been supported by a grant from a TCEQ/Texas Commission on Environmental Quality grant “to replace LSG Sky Chef’s aging diesel fleet.”

“We have a strong commitment to both our customers and the communities we serve,” LSG last mile logistics director Todd Liddle says in the Clean Energy announcement.

“By using alternative fuels such as natural gas, we can cut our greenhouse gas emissions while continuing to offer world class service,” he said.

The vehicles for LSG will be Ford F-750s with dedicated-CNG fuel systems from Landi Renzo USA.
