Signing the announcement as “Team AZD,” Canada’s Azure Dynamics (Toronto:AZD) has pledged to emerge from bankruptcy protection.
It has meanwhile restored warranty services – albeit with a reduced service roster – and is asking for “patience.”
“The management team is focused on making a successful turnaround that will see AZD emerge still passionately dedicated to delivering sustainable commercial transportation solutions to a wide variety of fleets in North America and Europe,” said a public letter to customers.
“We are in regular communication with Ford,” the company said (referring to its key chassis supplier).
“It is our objective to be transparent with all interested parties whether partners, suppliers, end users or shareholders. We all have a vested interest in the electric vehicle space and Azure Dynamics.”
“Our intentions are to be fully operational as soon as possible, leaner and stronger than ever.”
A key U.S. bankruptcy court hearing is slated for May 3.
Azure will skip a planned appearance at ACT Expo in Long Beach next month.
“We are busy getting our ship turned,” Azure marketing VP Mike Elwood told F&F last week.
