Best Buy and Geek Squad Out, AeroVironment Handling Leviton
Ford has advised dealers that it has tapped AeroVironment to provide electric vehicle chargers for C-Max Energi, Fusion Energi and Focus Electric cars. Customers will still have the option to buy Leviton equipment, but the Best Buy-Geek Squad sales outlet has been eliminated.
“Ford dealerships and consumers can purchase and install the Ford- branded Leviton 240V charging station through AeroVironment,” states a bulletin. “A Ford-branded AeroVironment 240V charging station will be available this summer.”
“Consumers and dealerships are able to purchase both the Leviton and AeroVironment charging stations and utilize the certified electrician of their choice,” Ford says. “AeroVironment will provide full service installation for both the Leviton and their own charging station.”
‘Turnkey, Professional Installation’
AeroVironment (NASDAQ: AVAV) promises one-day installation and cash-and-carry purchase of Ford-branded charging stations. The Southern California company says it has deployed more than 11,000 charging stations across North America, and “offers the convenience of turnkey, professional installation performed by its nationwide network of certified installers and supported by a three-year onsite parts and labor warranty.
“Many customers will have the opportunity to schedule a charging station installation in a single visit,” AeroVironment says, “without the need for a preliminary site consultation, depending on local regulations and the layout of their property.”
The company notes that it supports consumers and fleets, and Ford dealers themselves in need of EV charging infrastructure.
The new toll-free customer number for AeroVironment EV chargers for Ford is 888-219-6747.
