Compact EVs Available for Order via 280 Authorized Dealers
Medina, Minn.-based Polaris has unveiled the 2014 line-up of GEM battery electric neighborhood and low speed utility vehicles, and says they are ready for order through all 280 authorized GEM dealers in North America.
New for 2014 is a 7-horsepower motor, standard an all models: the e2, e4 and e6 for transport and the eS, eL and eL XD work vehicles. The vehicles also feature new rear drum brakes. The low-speed electric GEMs seat from two to six people and can haul up to 1,450 pounds of payload.
“GEM vehicles are capable of handling any transport or light-utility task a business or individual may have,” GEM general manager Tim Blinkhorn said in a release.
More than 46,000 Produced
New options for 2014 include hard lockable doors for two- and four-person capacity vehicles, with sliding windows, fully-functioning door handles and upgraded hinges and sealing.
All GEM vehicles also come standard with scuff guards and charge cords.
More than 46,000 GEM vehicles have been produced over the course of 15 years. GEM stands for Global Electric Motorcars.
